I met Oklahoma's Cathy Johnson of CathyJohnsonWeddings.com at an OK Bride.com event.  She was a featured speaker and impressed me with her professionalism and her total grasp of wedding planning.  I now understand why it is so important to secure the help of someone like Cathy or our own Gail Perry of Pennsylvania to make wedding magic.

Cathy was kind enough to share some of her best advice with us.  Thanks, Cathy!

     Always,

Cathy Johnson's Top Ten Wedding Consultant Tips

1.  Hire a Wedding Consultant

Make sure your personalities mesh.  The two of you will work together on the creation of one of the most important days of your life.

2.  Compile Your Wedding Invitation List

This will determine your bottom dollar on your budget.

3.  Create a Projected Wedding Budget

Take time to visit at least three vendors in each category to get a range of style and cost.

4.  Give Yourself Time to Enjoy

If you have not already set your wedding date, give yourself 9 to 12 months to plan.

5.  Consider Wedding Insurance

We recommend this for every bride.  It's just smart business.  You are investing thousands of dollars in one day.  The cost is minimal compared to your possible loss.

6.  Don't Forget Plan B

Throughout your planning process, keep a Plan B in mind for vendors, venues, etc.

7.  Beauty Makeover Trial Run

Don't try new chemical peels, teeth bleaching, hair color, etc, the week of your wedding.

8.  Pay Attention to Details

9.  Pre-Marital Education

Don't invest so much money in one day and not consider the rest of your married life.

10.  Relax, Have Fun and Don't Stress or Panic.

Yes, your wedding day is big deal.  However, keep it in perspective and remember to choose your battles and let the other stuff just go!
