Mini-Synopsis:

The devastating Johnstown Flood washes away secrets of the past for Carolena Dunnigan, but who will survive to claim her love?

Reader Comment:

I am having trouble waiting for it ! I am NOT going to read it as quickly as I did GBL [The Goodbye Lie] ........ ( yea right ) I went through GBL so fast that now I have FOREVER to wait until I have something interesting to read again. I get really annoyed when a good book ends and I have nowhere to go from there.  :o)

  • About Secret Pebbles

  • "I wish you'd develop a splash of patience!"

Ignoring her, Grey brushed past, instantly recognizing he'd interrupted something. His confirmation was her ruddy face and puffy lips. It was a blessed good thing he'd come along when he had. "Patience! I've been freezing outside, waiting for your highness like some lap dog. When you say five o'clock, I expect you to be downstairs waiting for me at five o'clock! I sure don’t have to ask what you’ve been up to. And where is this man who tempts you so much, you're willing to debase yourself at his mere beckoning?"

Carolena looked to the velvet pillows now crushed on the floor. Wadded in the corner was the blue dress. There was little sense denying it. Then again, who was he to tell her what was proper? He'd bedded hundreds of women, she was sure, so he had no room to talk.

Remaining calm, lest her feeling of guilt show, she told him, "Signor Alontti is attending to business. He sends his regards."

"Yeah? I'll just bet he does. Come on. Let's get out of this lair before I find your lover and lay him out!"

Hello Jane: I received and have read your two books from my Brother-in-Law, Tim S.  What a very special gift and also a life-time keep-sake since you signed them for me.   I am so excited to read your next book.  I can hardly wait to see if you write about Carolena and Breelan's cousin Noreen or Jack Patrick.    How wonderful it would be,  if while Jack Patrick was off to Georgia working to help the family after their fire, that he had befriended an elderly woman or man and they left him a fortune.  Or maybe met a girl that haunts his dreams and thoughts.  Then, amazinly enough she ends up having a reason to come to Amelia Island and she runs into Jack Patrick again.  There are so many possibilities with your characters and stories.   Thank you so much for your great imagination in your books. Please let me know when your next adventure will be coming out.
Your very dedicated reader, Cathy B
