Bonnie's New Thanksgiving Tradition: Everyone I invite to Thanksgiving dinner will have a list of all the other guests. They will be instructed to buy or make a thank you card for each person on the list. On the cards, they must thank each other for at least one thing they have done or tell one another at least one thing they really appreciate about them. They may sign their cards or not, though signing is nicer. When they arrive for dinner, I will have a three ring binder and a decorated paper sack ready for each guest. As they arrive, they will place the cards in the appropriate sacks (think grade school Valentine sacks). The sacks can be kept in the binder and the cards for that year stored in the sack. Each year we can add new sacks to our binders. I think a book full of positive words from loved ones will do wonders to lift spirits and remind us what it is we love about each other. Maybe it'll even help heal those little spats that happen now and then when we look back and read what the person we are so angry with at the moment said about us. What do you think ?
