click on the photo to enlarge it After my daughter’s wedding, I had a dozen hurricane glass shades left over - you know, the ones you put over a candle so the wind won’t blow out the flame. I got to thinking and came up with this idea. It’s easy and fast, and if you’re careful not to break these snowmen, they will live on from year to year. Enjoy,

You'll need:
In a well-ventilated room or outside on a newspaper, lightly spray your clean glass lamp with white paint. Once it dries, make large round black eyes with the flat end of a pencil eraser or end of a paintbrush dipped in black paint. Make a tiny white dot in the lower right of each black eye to make the eyes come alive. With a smaller-handled paintbrush, repeatedly dip the end of the handle in black paint; then make a smile of dots, being sure to leave room for the nose. Laying your snowman on a towel so he won’t roll, paint on an orange carrot-like nose about one inch long at a 45 degree angle, wider at the bottom (where the 8 would be on a clock) and narrow at the top (where the 2 is on a clock). With the light blue paint, add scattered groupings of five small dots for snowflakes. Once dry, paint the whole snowman with clear glitter so he shimmers. Finally, stretch the cuff of a baby sock over the hole of the lamp at the top for his hat, and glue the pom-pom on the tip of the sock.
Caution: This snowman is for decorative purposes only. DO NOT actually place a lighted candle inside him because it will burn the sock and could cause a fire.
