about Baking Nancy and Jill once took a course on cake decorating. They learned a few things and had a lot of fun, but sometimes you just want to top a cake with a great tasting icing like the classic Seven Minute Frosting. This boiled white icing is my husband’s favorite. Bruce requests it every birthday on top of his chocolate cake. It’s his mother’s recipe, and I often times will double it so it’s extra thick. Thank you, Mary Jo. It reminds him of you. Enjoy, |
You'll need:
Combine in the top of your double boiler or saucepan substitute:
Turn burner setting to medium high and place double boiler on the stove. (Watch to see that the bottom of the double boiler neither boils over or boils dry.) Add:
Beat mixture until soft peaks form when the beaters are stopped and lifted. Add :
This makes enough frosting to cover the top of a 9”X12” cake. The recipe can easily be doubled.
