Crafts Gardening Home Helps People have been eating the products of the rose for thousands of years though North Americans seem to have lost interest in enjoying roses for more than the visual pleasure they bring us. But as a rosarian of some years, I would have been remiss if I hadn't shared these edibles with you.
Enjoy, PS A word of caution: Be sure the rose petals you prepare for food products are pesticide free. |
Rose Water You'll need
Steep the petals for an hour so they release their scent. Strain the petals and use the water to flavor food immediately. Do not store overnight.
Rose ButterYou'll need
Mix well and chill. Serve with breads, muffins, rolls, etc.
Rose JellyYou'll need
Cook over slow heat until thick. Chill and serve.
Fruit SaladCut up bananas, apples, grapes, raisins, nuts, etc. Sprinkle with rose petals and a splash of rose water.
