Cookbook Reviews Ham Rollups were served at the fictional 1882 Christmas Dance at Fort Clinch, Amelia Island, Florida, in my historic romance novel The Goodbye Lie. Finger foods were popular in those days and still are. This is a dish any homemaker can prepare for a special occasion. Enjoy, |

You'll need:
Pat the ham dry.Spread each slice of ham with cream cheese.Place an onion on the longest edge of the ham slice and begin rolling. With the seam side down, cut the ham slices in approximately ˝" pieces.Arrange the ham and onion pinwheels on a pretty platter. Garnish with greenery or edible flowers.Refrigerate until serving time.OptionsYou may also replace the green onion with a dill pickle.Try mixing 2 to 3 tablespoons of horseradish with the cream cheese and / or adding some chopped onion or chopped olives.Grated sharp cheddar cheese and cooked bacon would be wonderful, but to prevent the grated cheese from falling out, don't cut the ham into small pinwheels. Instead, secure each long ham roll with a fancy toothpick to serve. |
