Baking and business are two of my favorite things.  Tom McMakin put them together in Bread and Butter - nicely, very nicely.  McMakin draws business lessons for all of us from his experience with Great Harvest Bread Co., whose treats I have never been privileged to sample.

But McMakin makes up for that with his whole life approach to the business of business.  Yum.  Nancy

Dare to go Bear

"There is no substitute for water."  Jean-Michel Cousteau, Ocean Futures Society

Tons of lovely books of photographs clutter the coffee tables of the world, but sometimes an important message comes through: Water Culture is a  collection of images and short essays from artists, scientists and politicians who remind us that water is life.

Since a portion of the proceeds from the book goes to the Cousteau's Ocean Futures Society, Water Culture should be everyone's next purchase.  We will all benefit.  Nancy
