Medieval times hold a fascination for those of us who fall sleep in warm beds while watching television.  We can look back and pretend we frequented castles and listened to bard-song by flickering firelight.  Then we pick up a novel (or even a scholarly tome) about the period and are reminded of the bone chilling accommodations of the great unwashed of that time.  Of course, if the book is a good one, like any of the Owen Archer series by Candace Robb, we're drawn into the story,  wishing we could wield a sword or bow in defense of justice.

I'm not sure how accurate it would be for me to claim this is a mini-review for Robb's medieval mysteries, but I've wanted to express this thought for a while AND I do enjoy the adventures of Robb's one-eyed bowman.  You will too.  Begin with The Apothecary Rose Nancy

PS  Robb also has series historical fiction set in Scotland during the time of William Wallace of BraveheartThe first volume is A Trust Betrayed.
