Oriental Sesame Salad

Salad

Brown over low heat, being careful not to over brown or burn the ingredients. Drain after browning.

One 6 ounce small package sliced almonds
Two tablespoons sesame seeds
One 3 ounce package Ramen Noodles® (use flavor packet for another recipe)
One stick butter or margarine (use half a stick for a lighter version)

Toss together:

One large head romaine lettuce, washed and torn
Five green onions and tops, chopped
Two small cans mandarin oranges (drained)
Browned ingredients

Dressing

Mix together:

3/4 cup sugar
One teaspoon dry mustard
One1 teaspoon salt (optional if you're watching your salt intake)
One teaspoon soy sauce (lite soy sauce optional)
1/3 cup white vinegar

Add slowly:

One cup oil

Blend the dressing with a wire whisk. The oil and vinegar stay mixed and don't separate!

Add:

1 1/2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Pour the dressing over the greens and noodle mixture just before serving.

Buffet Serving Suggestion

Using four different dishes to allow each guest to serve themselves:

Oranges and onions
Almond and sesame seed mix
Dressing
Lettuce
