Add up to 2 tablespoons of milk if the batter seems dry. Spread the batter in a 9" round cake pan sprayed with non-stick cooking spray and bake at 350° F in a preheated oven for 30 minutes or until done in the center and the top is golden. If the cake browns too rapidly, cover it loosely with aluminum foil. Cool for five minutes and turn out onto a wire rack to cool. Serve on a pretty platter dusted with powdered sugar. Slice the cake into thin wedges that will lie comfortably on a tea saucer. |
