Bio Inanna is often associated with Ishtar, the Babylonian Queen of Heaven whose cult took over the Middle East in the pre-Christian era. She was married to Dumuzi (Tammuz). They shared the fertility cycle that the people of ancient Sumer felt was necessary for survival.

Inanna's name means Lady of the Date Clusters, which goes back to the fertility thing since dates were, and are, an important food source in the Tigris-Euphrates (Iraq) river basin. Nancy
