Holidays Christmas Halloween Cookies We got the nicest letter from Kim who inspired the publication of this recipe. It works as the traditional candy cane cookie, as rather lame Star of David cookies for Hanukkah, or at any time of the year if you shape the long rolls of dough into letters - Nancy's family shapes their initials as a way to brand their personal cookies! Enjoy, |

Quantity - We have no idea how many cookies you will make since dough strip rolling is an inexact art. The recipe can be doubled. NOTE: Candy canes and Stars of David require a stiffer dough to hold their shapes. If necessary, add extra flour and powdered sugar in equal proportions so your finished cookies retain their sweetness. You'll need:
Cream the butter, shortening and powdered sugar, beating well. Add the egg and flavorings, beating well. Stir in the salt and whole wheat flour.
